Our Technology

「GUNZE」×「Scaffold」

GUNZE’s medical field develops and manufactures a variety of medical devices specializing in bioabsorbable materials.It has been more than 35 years since GUNZE entered the medical field.We are now developping and manufacturing new medical devices using the processing technology we have cultivated since then.Nowadays, the world’s expectations and interest in regenerative medicine are growing, and its technologies are advancing rapidly.In light of this, we are focusing on the research and development of regenerative medical “scaffolds” made of bioabsorbable materials.

「Bioabsorbable Materials」×「Technology」

Our bioabsorbable materials are already used in approved medical devices and have decades of clinical experience.Examples include polyglycolic acid, copolymers of lactide and caprolactone, and collagen, etc.By using GUNZE’s processing technology, these materials can be processed into nonwoven fabrics, sponges, and films, etc.

Cultivation Results

In order to test the potential of bioabsorbable materials as scaffolds in regenerative medicine, experiments were conducted using cells.
〇Cell type: mesenchymal stem cells (MSC)
〇Host: human
〇Evaluation time point: 3days
〇Evaluation method: immunostaining (DAPI (nuclear), phalloidin staining (cytoskeleton))
